Web SMS
Overview
Web SMS let you send and receive messages conveniently through its web interface.
Select an available Device from the list of connected devices. A device is identified by its device name and user (the Google Apps™ account used to connect the device).
If another authorized user in your domain is currently using a device for Web SMS, the device status will indicate it is in use and not available.

Clicking on an available device will open up the Web SMS Conversation page.


You can start to compose message, add contacts and groups (recipients), and send the message through the selected device.

When the Web SMS session is active, all inbound SMS sent to the selected device will appear on your screen with the sender’s name & mobile number shown. You can click on the sender to reply.
Please note that other users in your domain authorized to use SMS Communications Manager are able to view all received messages under the Inbound SMS page.
You can still send messages to a Contact who has opted out from Automated Tasks (tagged as opted out) from Web SMS.
For English message, 160 characters will fit into one SMS. For Unicode languages such as Chinese, only 70 characters can be fitted to one SMS message.
New: You can opt to post a copy of your text message to Twitter and/or Facebook.
New: Upload a picture and send is to your contacts by text message.
Voice Message
Click the
icon to record a voice clip and insert the auto-generated URL to the voice clip in the SMS message.
1. Click the Record button to start recording.

2. You must allow the Adobe Flash plug-in to use the microphone.

3. Say your message. You can record up to 1 minute length. Press the Stop button to stop recording.

4. Press the Play button to playback your clip or press Save to save the clip.

5. Once saved, wait for the URL to appear. Then, click the Insert to Message button to insert the URL to your message.

6. The URL will be automatically appended to your message. You can add other text in the same message before sending.

Once your contact (recipient) clicks on the embedded URL in the received SMS, your voice message will stream and play on the phone. The phone must have Internet connection and must be able to play MP3 clip.
Beware that anyone who has the link will be able to stream and play the voice message. If you would like to delete a recorded voice clip, you can identify and delete it under the Message Store tab.
